Valyou Sdn Bhd (766531-U) is a licensed money services business (MSB) that provides multi-country international remittance services and is an approved issuer of e-money in Malaysia. Having to understand the importance of gearing towards a cashless society, Valyou seeks to make financial services available to everyone beyond culture and social class.
In November 2016, Valyou introduced an affordable and convenient mobile money solution app – Valyou Mobile Wallet – the first mobile wallet in Malaysia that offers International Remittance from mobile devices in hopes to improve the quality of life of the larger migrant segments in Malaysia concurrently foster a sense of social belonging away from home.
Today, Valyou has over 2,000 and growing touch points all over Malaysia where customers have more access to our services. Our ambition is to explore digital remittance to all relevant corridors, including Telenor’s own financial services markets such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. With the migrants being our largest customer segment, we are focused to empower and educate them in adopting the latest in mobile money technology for international remittance. Acquired in in May 2016 by Telenor Group, Valyou Sdn Bhd was formerly known as Prabhu Money Transfer.
Borje was appointed as Head of Cash Management and Operations in Telenor ASA, Group Treasury September 2014. He joined Telenor ASA, Group Treasury in June 2000 as Cash Manager. Prior to that Borje was working as a Vice President in DNB, Norway’s largest commercial Bank, where he headed a team responsible for sales and counselling towards the Banks largest corporate clients within Cash Management.
Borje holds a Bachelor in Banking and Finance and has also completed a Management program at BI, the Norwegian Business School, in Electronic Trade & Commerce and Project Management.
Mr Klas Berthelsson
Klas joined the Telenor Group as Vice President and Head of Financial Services Europe in November 2013. Before joining Telenor Klas ran his own consulting business specializing in business development and strategy delivering cross industry solutions involving the financial services sector. The business was established in 2010. Prior to that Klas worked within the banking sector for 25 years, his experience covers Retail and Merchant banking. As Vice President at the Scandinavian bank SEB Klas served as Director on several Boards of financial institutions over ten years.
Klas holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and has attended post-graduate training at that same institution and IMD.
Loh was appointed Chief Sales Officer on 1 January 2014. Prior to that, he was the Head of Channels and Regional Management, overseeing Digi’s sales organization responsible for Distribution, Channels, Retail, Business Sales, Sales Operations, Trade Marketing, Device Management and Regions.
He has held various senior portfolios within the Marketing Division in his 9 years with Digi. These include Head of Postpaid, Head of Corporate Strategy & Broadband and Head of Product Marketing. He has more than 19 years of experience in the telecommunications and accounting industries, having held roles at KYL Consulting Sdn. Bhd. and PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to joining Digi. Currently, Loh is holding the position of Chief Marketing Officer in Digi.
Loh is a Chartered Accountant who holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Monash University, Australia.
Christian was appointed as Digi’s Chief Marketing Officer on 1 January 2014. He joined Digi in June 2010 as the Head of Strategy and Business Transformation and was appointed Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer in early 2013. Prior to this, he was Head of Market Management of the Consumer Division of Telenor Denmark, where he was responsible for revenue, profitability and market share of Telenor’s consumer product portfolio and corporate analytical support functions. Christian joined Telenor Denmark in 2005 as Business Development Manager and was later promoted to Head of Sales and Channel Management in 2007. Currently Christian is holding the position of Chief Marketing Officer in Telenor Sweden.
Christian holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.
Teoh was appointed as Digi’s Head of Financial Services on 1 July 2014. Prior to joining Digi, Teoh was the Director & Chief Operating Officer of PT Flashiz Indonesia, a joint venture between Fexco Financial Services and the Indonesian conglomerate, SinarMas Group. Prior to his secondment to Flashiz Indonesia, Teoh was the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for Fexco Asia. In 2003 Teoh started up Western Union’s operations in Malaysia and held various positions in operations, business development and strategic initiatives with responsibilities for the South East Asia and South Asia region.
Teoh has over 20 years’ experience in business & strategic partnership development, revenue generation, general management and operations in multiple countries across the APAC region, with more than 10 years in the consumer financial services industry. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Political Science from the Australian National University.
Dato’ Soong was previously the General Manager of Malaysia Airlines for 8 years based in Perth, Western Australia. He has worked with the airline for more than 25 years and held senior management positions including as Director of Industrial Relations.
He also has vast experience in the Money Services Business (MSB) industry in Malaysia having previously held advisory and directorship positions in MSB companies. Currently, he is a non-executive director/ shareholder of Prabhu Travel Services Sdn. Bhd., non-executive director in various companies in Malaysia and a public listed company in Australia.
Khurram Malik is a seasoned professional with over 16 years of experience working in several different countries and sectors as diverse as telecommunication, banking and mobile financial services. Most recently he has headed Easypaisa mobile accounts in Pakistan, the third largest mobile financial services brand in the world. He has experience in managing big teams in culturally diverse and fast paced environment.
Khurram joined Telenor Financial Services in 2012 as the Head of Products and later moved to take Head of Mobile accounts business role. In this role, he was responsible for developing new products and finding new and innovative ways to mass market them along with meeting revenue and market share expectations from existing products. Prior to that, he has Headed Customer Services at Digi where he was responsible for Managing call centre and customer experience at Digi touch points. He joined Telenor Pakistan in 2006 where he was responsible for postpaid revenue and subscriber growth for the postpaid segment; he was later promoted as Director Call Center where he was managing a team of 2200 people working out of 3 different locations.
Khurram holds an Engineering Degree from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore and has attended several courses at Harvard Business School and London Business School.
